Battling the Struggles of Winter
Bob and Darla Provost, a hard working middle-aged couple living in Grand Isle, Vermont, grew most weary of having to de-snow and de-ice their cars every time before leaving their house to go to work. Investing a fair amount of their savings, they decided to have a two car garage built after 15 years of struggling against winter’s grip and chilly inconveniences. And while they loved the idea and usefulness of their garage, less than a year after its installation the concrete base was already cracking and chipping. Epoxy efforts to seal and maintain the floor failed twice, as the epoxy applications were prone to peeling, leaving cracked or chipped sections of the floor unprotected.
Seeking a long-term solution to sure up the investment they’d made in their new garage, the Provost’s contacted Garage Outfitters in Williston, VT, to inquire about our One Day Floors polyaspartic floor coating systems. Upon learning that polyaspartic paints are 3 times more durable than epoxies, and that application and cure time is short (even in colder temperatures), the Provost’s decided they’d found the long-term solution to repairing, improving, and protecting their garage floor and space. They chose to include a Tuxedo vinyl-chip coat, adding a great look to their garage floor, whose pattern disguises and hides the presence of dirt and the like.
The application (grinding and preparation) and curing/hardening process took just two days, giving the Provost’s just what they’d wanted the entire time: an attractive, durable, and long lasting concrete sealed floor in their newly built garage. Plus, to add to the value, and unlike their experience with the contractor whom built the garage and poured the concrete slab, the Provost’s know that Garage Outfitters will be around to stand behind the product and process!!!
